Thought I might start this off with a little somethin I wrote the day before we were off to Winter Camp.

Call of Conformity

Wasting on the inside
The outside lies
Try to be more beautiful
In World's eyes
Conformity will take you
And wrap you in gold
With silvery fingers
You're jammed in the mold
The spirit is drowning
In gray moral seas
The structure collapsing
You're forced to your knees
"O come and bow!"
Beckons Idol of all
Bow to Conformity
Join the Great Fall

Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Conviction is taking
You're letting Him in
Conformity breaking
A new cry begins
"Transform me! Transform me!"
You seek holy face
"O come and adorn me
With thy endless grace!"
Eyes filling with new light
Heart drawn to repent
Through death you are set right
With World won't consent

here are some awesome verses I came across:

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world Titus 2:12

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

I pretty much just opened my bible right to this verse and I liked it right away.

Proverbs 19:21--
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.

This verse shows me that people have many ideas for themselves. Each person has something, or many things as referred to in the verse, that they want to do for THEMSELVES. However, God has a plan for each individual person; the right plan--the one that will work out in the end.
As the verse says; "Many are the plans in a man's heart," to me; that meant that the plans that you have for your future could be something that you THINK would be honoring God (from your heart), but maybe it's not what God wants for you.

This verse applies to me because I have really been thinking about what God wants me to do for my future. In the past I've thought about being a teacher or chef, but maybe that's what I want for MYSELF, out of "man's heart," NOT God's purpose. It taught me that I need to pray to God and maybe put more thought into not what I think God would want for me to do, but what HE wants me to do for Him, or God's predestined purpose for me.

Hey here is something from Anna Scrivner
Thanks Anna sorry you had trouble logging on
I think this is awesome

Life

What is the real meaning of life today?

Just trying to get a grip on this thing

And is it just living life day by day?

Gotta make a plan and stick to something.

Sometimes it’s not easy making a choice

But you can rely on god to help you

You can pray and ask him to give you poise

Get a bible and stick to it like glue.

Don’t forget, that he’s always there for ya

Find a good church and go like you’ve never

First shy but he’s always there wheneva

Don’t soak in doubt he’s pretty clever.

But don’t be too mighty or act afraid

Remember; be grateful you have it made.

Hey i have been really thinking about what i wanted to put up here! And I think God has put this on my heart!

God doesn't call the qualified he qualifies the called. (I cant find it at the moment!)

This has been relevent to me because i was chosen to be apart of the leadership team. I was worried that I couldnt do it and wouldnt be a good person for the job. But God showed me this and it gave me the strength to go out of my comfort zone! He showed me that I didnt have to be really shy! I could be the person He wanted me to be and that is all He ever asks of me! And the best part about it is that HE is right there next to me to help me through it!
I have been working on this for the last few weeks and I think it definietly showed tonight! God gave me this urge to go up and sing with Rachel! And I felt amazing being up there! I didnt care what everyone thought about me or my singing I just knew that God was proud of me! And that is such an amazing feeling! Right now im just on cloud nine for Jesus!

ok so my last post wasnt really a proverb so i have been looking 4 some good proverbs! I have been really struggling with jealousy so these verses were perfect!

Peace of mind means a healthy body, but jealousy will rot your bones. Proverbs 14:30

Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

These verse have really been helpful lately because i have been struggling with jealousy. My best friends have been hanging out with this other girl and i kinda felt left out! But i have been really preying about it and i started to feel less jealous! So i decided to start talking to her and we have been talking non stop since! She is also a christian and im so glad that God has given me and my friends another Christian in our lives!

I didn't write this poem, but, I was reading this book and came across it and I think it speaks volumes about the world we live in today....

What Do You Think Of Me?
By Vicki Courtney

From baby steps to finger paints
and learning how to read,
I proudly asked the world's advice,
"What do you think of me?"

With trophies, grades and honors
i quickly began to see
the world applauds success and fame-
"What do you think of me?"

"You look great," "You smell good,"
"You've lost some weight, I see."
With high school comes the dating game-
"What do you think of me?"

For boyfriends and promised love,
I traded my purity,
and choked backed tears and silently asked,
"What do you think of me?"

The world's applause was my reward
when I sought to please,
but the clapping stopped when I missed the mark-
"What do you think of me?"

And now I stand before His throne
burdened by sin and shame.
Beaten and battered by the world,
I call upon His name.

I hold back tears and try to speak,
but utter a silent plea.
With downcast eyes, i finally ask,
"What do you think of me?"

I catch my breath as He draws close
In fear, my knees grow weak.
My heart grows faint as I wait on Him
And then I hear Him speak:

"My child," He said, "the time of come when you ask the same of Me.
For so long you've sought the world's advice-
What do you think of me?"

"Now here we are, my turn has come,
the chance to finally say
exactly what I think of you,
so allow Me, if I may."

Gently, He takes my chin
and raises my face to see.
"My child," He said, "You're beautiful-
you're made in the image of Me!"

"Before you ever drew a breath,
My name was on your heart,
the Auhor of your hidden frame
before your life did start."

"You entered this life with pomp and fare
And I held my breath to see,
if those I allowed to care for you
would teach you all about Me."

"An innocent child , your journey began
in this life to find your place.
The world was quick to take your hand
and thus began the race."

"In quiet moments throughout your life
I whispered in your ear,
tender pledges of My love-
I hoped someday you'd hear."

"But the world could offer nothing
to fill you inmost need,
and release you from the bondage of sin
and love you eternally."

"My Son was sent to tell the world
of My unfailing love.
A covenant pledged to all mankind
and written in heaven above."

"My boy was nailed to a rugged cross,
For you,He agreed to die.
Burdened by your sin and shame,
'It is finished,' He finally cried."

"The world could never match My love,
the price was far too high-
for if you were the only one,
My son would choose to die."

"I've gone to desperate lengths,My child,
to prove My love to you.
I loved you then, i love you now-
Will you love me too?"

"My child," He said, "The choice is yours.
What will your answer be?
It's your turn now- the question is,
What do you think of Me?"

Check this proverb out, Let love and loyalty always show like a necklace, and write them in your mind. God and people will like you and consider you a success. Pretty sweet right?

The phrase that sticks out to me is "like a necklace", I think of my New Zealand necklace that most people that around me see everyday, i never take it off, it is always on display, people that i meet remember my necklace and comment on it all the time and i had to ask myself... "would people see love and loyalty in the same way when they are with me.
I want those things to be out for everyone to receive so that God gets more glory and more people can know His Love, because He, after all, is the source of it all.

This challenged me, I hope it helps
or challenges some of you

here is somethin I wrote back in October of '06. I found an awesome proverb that fits pretty well.

Proverbs 11:7
When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes; all he expected from his power comes to nothing.

Worldly Power

Oh Power of your beauty great,

Oh powerful deceit,

You lull away the hearts of men,

You snatch them off their feet.

You fill up minds with fattened lies,

Of glory, wealth, and fame.

You love to make the human heart,

Die crippled, filled with shame.

For you are Power of beauty great,

A sun to earthly men.

Who center life around your light,

Yet slowly freeze within.

They gaze upon your status,

Your beauty, shimmering gold.

They soon become your puppets,

And sink to lows untold.

Man wants you for his very own,

He'll even give his life.

To gain you, mighty Power,

He'll endure all your strife.

He'll put aside his dearest ones,

Thinking "just for now."

But soon he'll find he's lost it all,

And not even know how.

You, Power, are a blinding dark,

Your beauty shrouds the heart.

Lulling as a shining sun,

Killing as a dart.

For in the end when they consider,

The rich success they've won,

Their heart will mourn for wasted days,

That cannot be undone.

Yes, only in the wake of death,

Do you reveal disguise.

Parading now in deadly light,

A hideous demise.
